Educators Conference A Success

NEWARK, NJ

August 7, 2005

Every Individual is a Whole World was the theme of two-day conference that drew some 100 educators in the Chabad-Lubavitch school system, nationwide and Canada.

The 4th annual International Kinus Hamechanchim-Educators’ Conference, sponsored by the Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch, convened at the Robert Treat hotel in Newark, NJ last week.

The conference featured workshops by nationally renowned presenters; including Dr. Scott Goldberg, Rabbi A.Y. Weinberg, Rabbi Dr. Aharon H. Fried, Dr. Joel Dickstein, and Rabbi Meir Fachler of Jerusalem, among others.

Rabbi Yitzchok Newman conducted a seminar of the newest audio and video distance learning techniques and in the afternoon Rabbi Nochem Kaplan, director of the Merkos Chinuch Office, spoke to the conference’s theme. Teachers, principals and administrators had an opportunity to explore their respective issues at round-table discussions and a power lunch.

According to Rabbi Meir Fachler, this conference was unique among all those he attended for the particular quality of unity and camaraderie among the participants. Rabbi Kaplan concurred. “The conference closed with resolution by participants to carry this magnificent sense of unity and cooperation back with them and to follow up with personal calls over the next few months.”
